Douglas Neff is a Co-Founder of IHP Capital Partners and serves as Chairman of IHP’s Investment Committee.  Mr. Neff is also the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Newport Pacific Land Company, an affiliate company of IHP Capital Partners.

From 1985 until the founding of IHP in 1992, Mr. Neff was a Partner of The O’Donnell Group, a major regional developer, owner and manager of commercial and industrial real estate. Previously, he was Treasurer of The Irvine Company, developer of one of the nation’s largest master-planned communities, and a Vice President in the Real Estate Industries Group at Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco.

A graduate of Amherst College, he received an MBA from the University of Chicago. Mr. Neff is also a member of the Policy Advisory Board of the Fisher Center for Real Estate at the University of California, Berkeley.

Hadley Arkes has been a member of the Amherst College faculty since 1966, and since 1987 he has been the Edward Ney Professor of Jurisprudence. He has written five books with Princeton University Press: Bureaucracy, The Marshall Plan and the National Interest (1972), The Philosopher in the City (1981), First Things (1986), Beyond the Constitution (1990), and The Return of George Sutherland (1994). His more recent books have been with Cambridge University Press, including Natural Rights and the Right to Choose (2002), and Constitutional Illusions and Anchoring Truths: The Touchstone of the Natural Law (2010). His newest book is Mere Natural Law (2023) from Regnery. His articles have appeared in professional journals.  Apart from his writing in more scholarly formats, he has become known to a wider audience through his writings in the Wall Street Journal, the Weekly Standard, and National Review. He has been a contributor also to First Things, a journal that took its name from his book of that title. 

He was the main advocate, and architect, of the bill that became known as the Born-Alive Infants’ Protection Act. Prof. Arkes first prepared his proposal as part of the debating kit assembled for the first George Bush in 1988. The purpose of that proposal was to offer the “most modest first step” of all in legislating on abortion, and opening a conversation even with people who called themselves “pro-choice.” Professor Arkes proposed to begin simply by preserving the life of a child who survived an abortion–contrary to the holding of one federal judge, that such a child was not protected by the laws. On August 5, President Bush signed the bill into law with Professor Arkes in attendance.

Professor Arkes has been the founder, at Amherst, of the Committee for the American Founding, a group of alumni and students seeking to preserve, at Amherst, the doctrines of  “natural rights” taught by the American Founders and Lincoln. That interest has been carried over now to the founding of a new center for the jurisprudence of natural law, in Washington DC: the James Wilson Institute on Natural Rights and the American Founding, named for one of the premier legal minds among the American Founders.

Judge Janice Rogers Brown was confirmed to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on June 8, 2005. She retired from the court in 2017. From 1996 to 2005, she was Associate Justice of the California Supreme Court. Previously, she served as Associate Justice of the Third District Court of Appeals in Sacramento and as the Legal Affairs Secretary to Governor Pete Wilson.

Prior to joining Governor Wilson’s senior staff, Judge Brown was an associate at Nielsen, Merksamer, Parrinello, Mueller & Naylor. Earlier, she served as Deputy Secretary and General Counsel for California’s Business Transportation and Housing Agency (BT&H), working primarily with business regulatory departments. She came to BT&H after eight years in the State of California Attorney General’s Office, where she worked in both the criminal appellate and civil trial divisions. She also worked for two years for the Legislative Counsel and previously served as an adjunct professor at the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law.

Judge Brown is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law and California State University, Sacramento. In 2004 Judge Brown received a Master of Laws degree in Judicial Process after completing the Graduate Program for Judges at the University of Virginia School of Law.

Judge Brown received the UCLA School of Law Alumnus of the year award in 1998 and UCLA’s 2004 Award for Excellence in Public Service.

Mary Ellen Bork is a free-lance writer and lecturer on issues affecting Catholic life and culture. She serves on the Board of the Ethics and Public Policy Center and the advisory board of Christendom College. Over the years she has been an advocate for the pro-life movement, promoted Catholic culture through groups like the John Carroll Society, the Susan B. Anthony List, and Catholic Campaign for America. She has also been involved in ecumenical outreach as a long-time Board member of the Institute on Religion and Democracy. She is past president of the Downtown Washington Serra Club. She is a member of the Thomas More Society, the Catholic Women’s Forum, and the John Carroll Society. She taught religion for several years as a Sacred Heart nun.

For the past nine years she has been researching religious and cultural issues of the English Reformation and Counter-Reformation. She has given talks on St. John Fisher, Thomas More and Luther, Queen Mary Tudor, the Council of Trent, St. Catherine of Siena, and Mary of Rome, Michelangelo, and the English martyrs.

She received the St. Paul Woman of the Year award in 1991 from the Daughters of St. Paul, and the Brent Society Award in 1992. In 1995 she received an Honorary Degree from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio. She was a member of the Presidential Delegation to the Twenty-fifth Anniversary of Blessed Pope John Paul II in Rome in 2003. She also attended the Beatification of Mother Teresa of Calcutta. Her husband, Judge Robert H. Bork, was baptized the same year. In 2014 she received the John Carroll Award from the John Carroll Society of Washington. In 2017 she received the St. Catherine of Siena award from Christendom College.

In 2017 she gave the Mary T. Clark lecture at Manhattanville College. Her articles have appeared in the National Catholic Register, the Washington Times, Voices, and The New Criterion. She is a graduate of Manhattanville College with a B.A. in Philosophy, Siena College with a M.A. in English Literature, and Catholic University of America with an M.A. in Theology. She lives in McLean, Virginia and is a member of St. John the Beloved parish. She has three step-children.

Gerard "Gerry" Bradley teaches Constitutional Law and Legal Ethics at the University of Notre Dame Law School, where he also directs (with John Finnis) the Natural Law Institute and co-edits The American Journal of Jurisprudence, an international forum of legal philosophy. He served as president of the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars for many years and has been a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institute of Stanford University. He is also a senior fellow of the Witherspoon Institute.

Bradley received both his B.A. and his J.D. from Cornell University, graduating summa cum laude from the law school in 1980. Before teaching at Notre Dame, he served in the Trial Division of the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and taught at the University of Chicago College of Law. In 2009, he was a Visiting Professor of Politics at Princeton University. 

Bradley has published over one hundred and fifty scholarly articles and reviews, and is the author and editor of twelve books, such as Catholic School Teaching: A Collection of Scholarly Essays (Cambridge University Press, 2019) and Unquiet Americans: U.S. Catholics, Moral Truth, and the Preservation of our Civil Liberties (Saint Augustine’s Press, 2019). 

Mr. Crofton is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Philadelphia Trust Company, managing equity and fixed income portfolios for individuals, foundations, endowments, Taft-Hartley plans, public and corporate pension plans and insurance company portfolios.

Prior to founding The Philadelphia Trust Company he was a Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager, and member of the portfolio review committee at Rittenhouse Financial Services, Inc. Mr. Crofton also served as a Senior Vice President of the United States Trust Company where he managed mutual funds, institutional and individual assets and oversaw the trading, portfolio management and analytical staffs. Mr. Crofton serves on numerous corporate and eleemosynary boards including J. J. White Inc, Saucon Mutual Insurance Co., The James Madison Institute of Princeton University, The Witherspoon Institute and The Faith and Reason Institute. He also serves on the Board of Catholic Social Services and sits on Finance Council of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Michael G. Crofton is a graduate of Lenigh University and resides in Laverock, PA with his wife and children. He lectures widely on fiduciary issues and is a frequent guest on radio and television programs. Last but not least, Mr. Crofton is a Papal Knight, having been awarded the Order of the Holy Sepulcher and the Order of Malta by the Vatican. 

Mr. Maibach is a seasoned professional in global business diplomacy.  From 2003-12 he was the President of the European-American Business Council, after serving for 18 years as the Vice President of Global Government Affairs at the Intel Corporation.  Today he is Managing Director of the James Wilson Institute, and a Distinguished Fellow on American Federalism at Save Our States.  Mr. Maibach has earned MA degrees from Northern Illinois, Georgetown, Ashland, and the Institute of World Politics where he is a Trustee.  He speaks in classrooms and before civic groups often in defense of the Founders’ Constitution and its Electoral College.

Mr. Nesler is a general counsel and chief compliance office at Dalpha Capital Management LLC. Prior to that he worked at Winston & Strawn LLP as counsel in its corporate and finance group. With more that 38 years of experience as an investment management lawyer, Nesler has handled a wide range of legal and regulatory matters, including SEC, DOL, FINRA and NFA regulations and examinations.

Joseph Nesler is a graduate of Amherst College where he majored in political science. He received a law degree from Yale Law School.

Michael Petrino is a Senior Portfolio Manager for Affinity Investment Advisors, LLC. His 45 year industry experience provides a valuable perspective to Affinity's investment team. Mr. Petrino's experience includes managing portfolios for a wide range of retail and institutional clients and this background is brought to bear in both Affinity’s business development and client relations activities.

Petrino's previous work experience includes Portfolio Manager and Executive Director at Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Van Kampen, Partner at La Jolla Investment Management and Chief Investment Officer at Stockjungle.com Investment Advisors. Michael also founded two investment management firms, Matrix Capital Management and Calport Asset Management and was Chief Investment Officer at both of these firms as well.

Mr. Petrino received his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and graduated cum laude from Amherst College with a B.A. in Economics. He is a member of the NYSSA and the Society of Quantitative Analysts.

In his spare time, Michael likes to travel with his family, play golf, and go to the theater.
