Colin Hickl
Colin Hickl is a trial and appellate attorney at McKool Smith. He previously served as a law clerk for Judge Jeremy Kernodle of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Starting this fall, he will clerk for Chief Judge Jennifer Walker Elrod of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Colin earned his J.D. summa cum laude from SMU Dedman School of Law where he graduated second in his class. While in law school, Colin was Managing Editor of the SMU Law Review, a research assistant for Professor C. Paul Rogers, Treasurer of the SMU Federalist Society, a chief in the SMU Criminal Clinic, and an extern for Judge Sean Jordan of U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. He is also a Blackstone Legal Fellow. Colin earned his bachelor's degree magna cum laude from Texas A&M University.
