Ryan Lanier is an incoming law clerk to Justice John P. Devine of the Supreme Court of Texas, Following his Supreme Court of Texas clerkship, he will clerk for Judge Brantley Starr of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas and for Judge Kyle Duncan of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Ryan graduated from South Texas College of Law Houston, where he served as the President of the South Texas Federalist Society and as a Comment Editor on the South Texas Law Review. While at South Texas, he also served as an intern for Judge Jeffrey V. Brown of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas, as an intern for Judge Jerry E. Smith of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and as a Law Clerk in the Special Litigation Division of the Texas Office of the Attorney General. Ryan earned his B.A. in History from Hillsdale College in 2021.
